For safety and increased range Taylor had Huckins extend the yacht 2 feet in 1962 to install GM Detroit Diesel 653s still in use today (KINGFISHER is the only 50' Huckins 'Corinthian' model in existence).

The Founder of Huckins, Frank Pembroke Huckins... also known as "Huck" ~ enjoying the scenery. "Although yacht building yields microscopic profits, I would exchange places with no man and there is great spiritual satisfaction in being in a closely held, financially sound little company, unrestricted in the pursuit of a single objective -- trying to build the best thing of its kind in the world.
